Billy was there to start the race up Scafell and present prizes to winner.
At the time this photo was taken Billy Bland was record holder for the Bob Graham Round a circuit of 42 Lake District peaks.
This covers 66 miles and the record he set on 19 June 1982 was with a time of 13 hours and 53 minutes.
Billy Bland's record stood for 36 years until 8 July 2018 when Kilian Jornet broke the record with a time of 12 hours and 52 minutes
